Exactly i'm … Exactly i'm confused as too. I"m trying uying a house and the inspector just found out there's a lot of water in the crawlspace after a big rain. The owners want to fix it by putting a pump under the house to pump the water out. This don't sound worth a to me because it implies they still expect water to go under there! WTF, should it be landscaped from the outside so no water will get under there in the first place!? Are sump pumps commonly used; are they good idea?

    not venting a crawl …
not venting a crawl space would never happen where I’m from. Its the code.

How would snow or rain water end up in a crawl space? The ground has to be slopped away from the house to pass inspection in the first place.

You never ever close a crawl space unless its heated, and heating a crawl space is super expensive.

    The trouble with …
The trouble with exterior vents is that in the winter, they bring in cold air to a cold damp space. It’s too easy for the humidity to hit 100% and condensation and mold happen. It’s better to bring house air into the crawlspace and then exhaust it from the crawlspace to the outside. The warm house temperature air keeps the crawlspace humidity at bay while exhausting the air allows for fresh air to come in and stale air to exit…….Look up Humidex crawlspace technology. You’ll see what I mean.

    OK, in the …
OK, in the beginning of the videos about the vent, how the are you suppose to vent your crawl space? You need vents there, its the code.
Are you suggesting not putting in the vents at all when building a house? If you do that then get ready for mold to come in.

    I find this …
I find this procedure from god’s word, the bible, works best for killing mildew:
To purify the house of mildew take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop. Kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot. Then take the cedar wood, hyssop, scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them into the blood of the dead bird and fresh water, and sprinkle the house 7 times. Then he is to release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. In this way it will be clean.” [Leviticus. 14:48-53]

    Tell her to call …
Tell her to call the Health Department and report them. The Health Department will just let the landlord know that a complaint was made about health hazards that are going on there and they are there to investigate the problem/problems.

The housing manager here says you can just wipe the mold off but i knew that the problem has to be treated and then replastered not just wiping with a cloth lol. It is a big risk to health too.

Yes, and now you need to condition, heat, cool and de-humidify. Plus—- add A 100% sealed sump pump at wetest area.
    Radon Blanket works good.
